We're Back!!!

I apologize for the lapse in postings.  We are back and better than ever.  I thought I would start by giving everyone a nice little update of the recent successes of some of the MCA Photo alums:.

Class of 2012:

Jonathan Rogers is attending graduate school at the University of Illinois Chicago.  His work fits their program like a glove.  He is teaching (lord help them. hahaha) and is doing well.

Elaine Miller is attending Columbia College Chicago in the MFA in Photography program.  She is working at the Museum of Contemporary Photography and is shooting freelance while in grad school.  Here images were featured in Bullet Magazine.  What makes me most proud is that the images are amazing and I could identify them as hers without anyone telling me she did the gig.  That is an artist taking her style and applying it to a job.

Yeinier Gonzalez is also attending the MFA program at Columbia College Chicago.  He is a recipient of a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award, full tuition scholarship for graduate school.

Andrew Edwards is teaching art to elementary school kids and he loves it.

Julie Kopel and Amanda Gahan are both living in Florida.  Beautiful, sunny Florida.  Sigh..

Class of 2011:

Tommy Kha - graduates with his MFA in Photography from Yale this semester.  Two years have flown by.  He has been in several shows while at Yale and plans on living in New York after graduation.

Jordan Hood - is attending Parsons New School in the MFA in Photography program.  The program took her to China in December where she met Ai Wei Wei.

Anna Hollis is happy as a clam in Oregon. She is working as a product photographer and, based on her Facebook posts, is enjoying life.

Class of 2010:

Lauren Adkins - graduates this semester with her MFA in Photography from UNLV.  Her thesis piece was a performance/happening where she married a cardboard cutout of Edward Cullen.  This was the culmination of years of Cullen-based projects and discussions.  I am so happy that she could parlay her years long interest into her MFA Thesis.  The project received tons of press.  Just google it and you will see.

If I left anyone out, let me know.  It's not personal; its Saturday morning and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Current student updates coming soon....
